Results Washington is partnering with the Black Community Business Resource Group (BC BRG), a Washington State Business Resource Group, for a critical learning and sharing opportunity on what it means to be Black in America and American workspaces in a gathering of A Human Workplace Olympia: The Black Experience. This gathering will be hosted by BC BRG leader Megan Matthews. A huge thank you to Ayanna Colman for her collaboration in planning this event. The BC BRG say this, "Black People have faced and continue to face tremendous and oftentimes violent oppression. This oppression is not isolated to small pockets of American towns and cities, it has been woven throughout American systems. Black People are resilient though, and continue to achieve and accumulate great successes. We are here to share our experience and expand the dialogue to achieve a more human workplace." A Human Workplace works to foster compassionate, caring and thus more effective workplaces. In past gatherings, we've focused on practicing empathy, inclusion, and love in the workplace. This is an opportunity to put these in to practice by opening our hearts and minds to our colleagues, to convey belonging, care, respect, and support of their humanity and dignity. Join us to hear the voices of those who face different kinds of experiences and impacts. Through sensitive sharing, we will hear and learn about the true experiences our colleagues are facing today. We will hear from them what we can do to support them, and we will reflect on what we each can do.
