BUILD Black History Month Lunch and Learn: Black Joy Experience with Guest Artist OnRae LaTeal2/15/2023
Facilitated by: Masozi Nyirenda and Daisha Gomillion Join us Tuesday, February 28th, from Noon to 1:00 pm for the final Lunch and Learn in our Black History Month Series. OnRaé LaTeal, aka "The Liberation Music Maker," will be our musical guest artist and speaker. She is an award-winning producer, beat maker, experienced creative arts educator, audio producer, videographer, and dynamic cultural organizer holding a B.A. from Howard University's School of Communications in Radio, Television, and Film with a concentration in audio production. OnRaé will provide an interactive program with a discussion and a presentation about the "Black Joy Experience and resistance in Black music." Closing out BUILD's 2023 Black History Month Lunch and Learn series will be facilitators Masozi Nyirenda and Daisha Gomillion.
Masozi Nyirenda is the Chief of Staff to the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) Director Tara C. Smith. Before her arrival at DES in 2021, she worked as a lawyer, teacher, and HR consultant for more than 22 years, out-of-state and overseas. In addition to BUILD, she also participates and serves in other Washington state Business Resource Groups. Masozi has been a member of BUILD since 2021. Daisha Gomillion has been with the Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) Community Services Division for over ten years; and is currently the Business & Infrastructure Administrator for DSHS, Community Services Division (HQ).
