presents Black History Month celebrating Black Resistance BUILD cordially invites and welcomes you to join us as we celebrate and recognize African Americans' historical contributions, culture, and great achievements during the annual observance of Black History Month. The Black History Month 2023 theme, “Black Resistance,” explores the resistance of African Americans, in all forms, against historical and ongoing oppression. BUILD's February General Membership Meeting will be replaced with our main celebration event, which will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event: Friday, February 17, 2023, from 2 pm to 5 pm Evergreen State College - Tacoma Campus 1210 6th Ave. Tacoma Registration is now closed! Thank you to all that registered for our event, we look forward to seeing you in person. Per OFM policy, participants are not required to take leave to participate. If you experience challenges in participating, please contact us. For those that registered for virtual attendance, we will stream our event via Facebook Live. A Facebook account is not needed to stream and view. However, if you want to comment or chat, you will need to be logged into a Facebook account to participate. A reminder for those attending in person: Please arrive early, our program begins promptly at 2:00 pm. Allow time to park your vehicle and check-in. Masks are not required and are always welcome. As such, masks will be available at this event. We ask all attending this event to conduct a self-screening for the known symptoms of COVID before arriving at this event, and please do not attend if you are experiencing symptoms. The final Lunch and Learn event will be: Black Joy Experience with Guest Artist – OnRae LaTeal facilitated by: Masozi Nyirenda and Daisha Gomillion on Tuesday, February 28, from 12 pm to 1 pm.
