Blacks United In Leadership and Diversity (BUILD) would like to take a moment and connect with our community. These may be scary times for many of us; filled with uncertainty of what the future holds and fear about our economic stability and the health and wellness of ourselves, loved ones, and friends. In these times, we may want to shrink into ourselves and away from those things that may frighten us. BUILD wants to share that we are thinking of you.
You are not alone in your fear and suffering. We are with you. We are in this together and together we will get through this. We may be isolated physically but we are still a community. The Governor’s and Employment Security Department’s websites contains numerous categories of resources, including those for local businesses and individuals financially impacted by closures and reduction in work. Please share this information with those who may be concerned about the financial impacts of this pandemic. The Employee Assistance Program is also a resource for Washington State employees and their family members. Black people have been and will continue to be a resilient people.
