DIn announces Virtual Meeting Planning guide

The Disability Inclusion Network (DIN), a fellow statewide business resource group, is excited to announce the availability of an Inclusive Virtual Meeting Planning guide and checklist published on their website.

This guide is designed to assist anyone responsible for planning and conducting virtual (online) meetings regardless of software platform used.  It contains a comprehensive list of steps to follow to make your meetings inclusive for people with disabilities. It is our hope that this guide will provide a one-stop shop for accessibility considerations and make your meetings more successful. 

Some highlights from the guide contents:

• Accessibility tips are all throughout the document and cover multiple disability categories.
• Promotional material: Advertise accessibility and plan for handling additional requests.
• Learn the platform, practice, practice.
• Locate accessibility resources beforehand.
• List of suggested meeting roles
• Start meeting early to allow for setup and do check-in.
• Be aware of differing experiences - client/browser, internet, etc.
• The included Sample Checklist is a great tool!
