A message from Gregory T. Hinton, Vice President of Finance and Operations, Edmonds College. National Events Affecting our Black/African American Community
Please read the letter below from me and my leadership team and go to edcc.edu/blacksolidarity. There are also links to the WACTC's resolutions denouncing violence and discrimination and a list of few resources. Our Visual and Media Services team put together a video playlist of all the speakers we have hosted on campus over the last 5 years through Triton Talks that are pertinent to our current discussions. Black Lives Matter Playlist While it's not new material, putting it into a playlist will help us to raise awareness of work on our campus, and highlight amazing speakers we have had. We will supplement our cable channel feed with some of these talks, and plan on adding this link to our BLM page as well. Additionally, we have established a scholarship for African American students: PAVE THE WAY. If you would like to donate, please use the link and under designation select Scholarships and under leave a comment, please write PAVE THE WAY. https://www.edcc.edu/foundation/give/give-online.html Scholarship Description: The Pave the Way scholarship was created to support students who are African American/Black or of African descent as they pursue their dreams, achieve their academic and career goals, and make positive contributions to their local and global communities. We are here to help you continue to “pave the way” to your future. This scholarship is for currently enrolled students who are attending Edmonds Community College to help pay for tuition, fees, or books.
