Sundaes Outside: A Celebration of Black Folks Campout

​Our Sundaes Outside is not just for Sundays! Our 3-day event with our series celebrating creativity, the outdoors, and Black Folks!

​About this event We're going camping!!! It's going to be a weekend of games, activities, food, and more. Celebrating Black Folks.

With support from Washington State Parks Folk & Traditional Arts Program we will host the first Sundaes Outside Campout at Ramblewood Retreat Center at Sequim Bay. Join us and enjoy a weekend outdoors connecting!

LOCATION
Ramblewood Retreat Center is located on the Olympic Peninsula just 4 miles east of Sequim and a quarter mile from Sequim Bay State Park. It is a popular destination for those seeking a mixture of camping with the comforts of a fully equipped lodge and showers. Ramblewood offers a cozy lodge with fireplace, and several different lodging styles.

REGISTRATION
This is a free event, donations are appreciated. For those taking the transportation we do require a refundable deposit per person.

TRANSPORTATION
We will have optional transportation support to/ from the event on Friday evening and Saturday morning, returning Sunday afternoon from Seattle and Tacoma. There is limited parking onsite, taking the arranged transportation or carpooling is highly encouraged.

LODGING
There are several lodging options onsite and will be assigned based on responses to registration questions. More details will be provided closer to the event.

Friday
5:00pm Transportation from Seattle- Tacoma (optional)
3:00- 8:00pm Check-in & Explore
8:00- 9:30pm Hosted Dinner
9:30pm S'mores & Fun

Saturday
7:30am Transportation from Seattle- Tacoma (optional)
8:00- 10:00am Check-in & Explore
9:00am- 11:00am Optional Activities
  • Beginner Mountain Biking
  • Bird Walk (self-guided w/ binoculars & field guides provided)
12:00-1:30pm Camp cooking demo
2:00- 5:00pm Optional Activities
  • Wilderness Survival
  • Art Projects
  • Hike
7:30- 9:30pm Hosted Dinner & Music
9:30pm S'mores & Fun

Sunday
9:00- 11:00am Optional Activities
  • Water Safety & Kayaking
1:00 Optional Transportation to Seattle- Tacoma area
