As with any public activity, please maintain effective situational awareness and exercise caution when travelling near any area of demonstration or protest. Stay safe and be well. Event: Olympia Stand/Protest in Tacoma Time: Unknown Date: 6/11 Event taking place at the Capitol Campus. Information available at this time shows a protest at the state capitol in Olympia with additional activity also being planned for Friday in support of BLM – Seattle King County’s general strike and silent march call to action. Start time or crowd size is unknown at this time. Event: Olympia Stand/Protest in Tacoma Time: Unknown Date: 6/12 Event across the state with possible impacts to the Capitol Campus. Possible continuation from the 06/11/2020 event in support of BLM – Seattle King County’s general strike and silent march call to action. Start time or crowd size is unknown at this time. Event: Washington Unemployment Protest Rally Time: 1000am – 200pm Date: 6/13 North Steps of the Legislative Building. Event organizer also stated that BLM has reached out to possibly join this rally. Estimate crowd size anticipated from the event organizer is about 1,000 people. Event: Rally for Change Time: 300pm – 800pm Date: 6/13 Rally at the Capitol Campus. Estimated attendance from event organizer is about 700 people and the group plans to march from Tumwater to the Capitol Campus. Event: Black Lives Matter Time: Unknown Date: 6/13 BLM is calling for a statewide general strike; and day of marches and action in all communities. Possible impact on the Capitol Campus.
